Ski in Chile (Season: June to September)
The winter paradise of the South hemisphere, in addition to the long list of attractions that Chile has to offer.
In the Central Valley, next to the high and snow-covered summits of the mountain range of the Andes, between June and September, important winter centers welcome the people who practice this exiting sport, from beginners to the most expert international skiers, which turns these centers into the place where world championships take place.
A little more than one hour away from Santiago are the Valle Nevado, Portillo, Farellones, La Parva and El Colorado winter centers; equipped with modern ferry cables, exceptional snow, comfortable accommodations, restaurants, instructors and equipment leasing.
At 480 km to the South of Santiago, are the ski fields of Termas de Chillán, apart from being a famous thermal center located in the middle of nature.
In a natural, different environment, where unique landscapes formed by lakes, volcanoes and national parks of forest vegetation and the typical fauna of these heights, the Osorno Volcano Ski and Mountain Center was born. Its slopes allow to appreciate a marvellous view to the Llanquihue Lake, Calbuco volcano and part of the Petrohué River. In these unique surroundings, it is possible to practice or to take classes of ski and snowboard and, in the near future, it will be possible to enjoy a stimulating walk or mountain bike strolls in the surroundings. The Mirador cafeteria, located at the foothill of the volcano, with a panoramic view to the Llanquihue lake, is the ideal frame to taste a hot chocolate. |
